From Gaženica to wherever your day goes
Cruise ships and the big island ferries dock at Gaženica, the port about 4 km south of Zadar's old town. Shuttle buses fill up quickly and taxis at the terminal are few on busy days. With a pre-booked transfer, Saša waits at the terminal exit with your name and the day starts the moment you step ashore.
Zadar city tour panorama
A relaxed way to see Zadar when you only have a few hours. Saša drives the coast road and the edge of the peninsula, with stops where they are worth it: the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun, the Roman Forum and St Donatus, the Land Gate and the Five Wells Square. You walk the short stretches, the car meets you at the next point, and you never have to look for a parking space.
A typical panorama tour takes two to three hours. You can add a lunch stop, a viewpoint over the islands or a drive to Nin and its lagoon.
Shore excursions further out
- Krka National Park: about 1 hour each way, waterfalls and walkways
- Šibenik: about 1 hour, St James's Cathedral and the old town
- Nin: 20 minutes, the royal town on a lagoon
- Plitvice Lakes: about 1 h 45 each way, for long port days only
Back at the ship on time
The one thing cruise guests worry about is the all-aboard time. Saša plans every shore day backwards from it, with a clear margin for traffic, and keeps an eye on the clock so you do not have to. Tell him your ship, the arrival time and the all-aboard time when you book.
